Victory for Yankton Sioux
Tribe! The U.S. Supreme Court has denied State of South
Dakotas petition for writ of certiorari, effectively
affirming the existence of the Yankton Sioux Reservation.
Charles Abourezk began this lawsuit in 1993 and was lead counsel
for the Tribe when the Supreme Court announced its decision June
20, 2011. Congratulations to the Yankton Sioux Tribe and its
members!
Three Sisters Workshop: Charles Abourezk will be on the
faculty of The Art of Telling Our Clients Story workshop
in Portland, Oregon in August 2011, teaching two segments on
"The Psychological Structure of Story and Motivating Jurors for

Film Projects:
Peter Coyote
has agreed to narrate the new feature documentary by Charles Abourezk & Brett Lawlor (Badlands Films) entitled "Red State
Blues." This documentary will examine liberal South Dakota
politicians George McGovern and Jim Abourezk and how they were
elected numerous times in a relatively conservative state.

Charles
Abourezk is also working on two new documentaries: One on
J.L Moreno and his theories/methods of psychodrama and
sociometry, featuring John Nolte. The other is a documentary on
